Mcor Technologies Wins Prestigious Brand of the Year Award

Nov 8, 2013 by

3D PRINT SHOW, LONDON, ENGLAND – 8 November 2013Mcor Technologies Ltd, manufacturer of the only line of desktop paper-based 3D printers in the world, announced today that it has won the 3D Print Show’s prestigious Brand of the Year Award, beating out co-finalist Makerbot for the award. The Brand Award was presented last night at the 3D Print Show’s exclusive Black Tie Awards Gala at the Honourable Artillery Company London.

The Brand Award is designed for an individual, team or business operating between 1 July 2012 and 30 June 2013 that has created a standout brand within the 3D printing marketplace in that it has made the biggest impression; whether through innovative products, creative marketing or an exceptional new direction.

Mcor was selected for this award after receiving the highest number of public votes, following a process in which applications were submitted and a panel of judges, comprised of industry specialists, narrowed the large field of award candidates to a short list of finalists.

“We are thrilled and honoured to receive this distinguished award,” said Dr. Conor MacCormack, co-founder and CEO of Mcor Technologies. “This award is further validation of our dedication to making professional-class 3D printing available to everyone.”

Mcor 3D printers create full photorealistic colour 3D objects from standard A4 and letter-size sheets of paper, whether new or previously used. When sheets of paper are cut and bonded together, the resulting 3D model is tough and durable, yet pleasantly tactile. They can even be disposed of in the recycling bin for cradle-to-grave sustainability.

Mcor’s part cost is between five and 20 percent of other technologies’ costs, and therefore, the total cost of ownership over five years can save hundreds of thousands of dollars.  This low cost enables wider accessibility of the technology and therefore, greater innovation.

The 2nd annual 3D Print Show, dedicated to creating a fully interactive technology event that’s inspiring, entertaining and educational, takes place this week at The Business Design Centre in London.
